My First Exposure to DiabetesI first learned of the dangers of diabetes when I lost my grandfather to a massive heart attack brought on by Type 2 diabetes.His doctors put him on a strict diabetes diet and told him to check his blood sugar frequently. However Granddad loved his donuts and Pizza Hut pizza. He thought the doctors were trying to scare him by being overly cautious... They weren't. He lost over 20 years of his life because he didn't like the strict diet. He thought the bland diet and blood sugar monitoring were a lifelong "death sentence". He traded in years of his life so he could eat "good" food for the last year of his life. Is Diabetes Curable?Medical science still states that both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are incurable. I might agree with them on Type 1 but I disagree on Type 2. With the diabetes research I have done, I think that with proper diet AND exercise, you can regain control of your blood sugar naturally.Once your body has control of your blood sugar, you no longer need the medications or the blood sugar monitoring. In effect you will "Cure Diabetes!" The FDA states that the only thing that can "cure" a disease like diabetes is a medical doctor prescribing pharmaceutical drugs. However if you study very many drugs, you will see that drugs merely cover the symptoms of the disease. They do not "cure" anything If you want to be diabetes free, you need to take control of your own health. The FDA and CDC are not out to protect your health as they once were. They are now for sale to the highest bidder. After I lost my Grandpa, I did like the rest of society and accepted that diabetes is a fact of life and that modern medicine knows the best treatments for all diseases. However in 2002 I become ill. I went to doctor after doctor and they all told me I was perfectly healthy and that my symptoms were all in my head. I knew my symptoms were real so I started researching health on my own. I'm an engineer by trade, so I'm quite meticulous about research. I discovered my health problems were caused by a yeast overgrowth - Candida albicans. Modern medicine does not recognize Candida as a disease. However once I started treating myself, I "cured" my non-existent disease. It was then that I realized that modern medicine is controlled by the almighty dollar instead of by patient's health and wellbeing. The more diabetes research I do, the more I realize that it is up to you and me to heal ourselves. If we wait on modern medicine, we will pay thousands of dollars for medicines that only cover symptoms rather than allowing our bodies to heal themselves.
